Details: This will be a great opportunity for business owners to learn about money saving initiatives and a chance for residents to meet local businesses. Businesses and residents will meet the MSMS Board of Directors and discuss our working together to promote Mattapan as a culturally and economically rich area for everyone.

Visioning Meeting
MSMS organized a Visionary Meeting for the residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in September 2011. The purpose of the meeting was to get an idea of how people envisioned an improved Mattapan Square. The event was hosted by representative from the Boston Main Street program and MSMS Board members. About 30 people were present. The attendees were split in groups of 8-10 people. In each group various questions were asked and discussed. The answers, thoughts, comments, were all recorded on flipcharts. MSMS consolidated the data, and will use it to mold the goals of MSMS for the next few years.
MSMS 2011 Neighborhood Holiday Gathering
In conjunction with the Boston Mayor’s Annual Tree Lighting event, MSMS organized a neighborhood holiday event for the families of Mattapan. The event was held on December 2, 2011 at the Mattapan MBTA Police Station Community Room. MSMS provide various activities, such as arts and crafts, games, photo booth, dance performances, and sing-alongs. The event was well attended with about 75 children. The event was funded by the local business and residents of Mattapan. See pictures here!
